About the Author

Marco Hughes is a former Royal Navy officer who subsequently spent twenty-five years in international banking, working across four continents in cities from Mumbai to Chicago and Rome to Edinburgh.

He has lived in Messing for thirty years, which, by the standards of an Essex village, almost qualifies him as a local.

He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Founders, and a Freeman of the City of London.

Blazons, Beams and Bells is his first book
